Calorie Health Calculator
A Calorie Health Calculator estimates daily caloric needs using factors like age, sex, weight, height, and activity level.
Components of Calorie Calculator
Calorie calculator consists of Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). BMR is calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation.
For men: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6. 25 × height in cm) – (5 × age in years) + 5.
For women: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6. 25 × height in cm) – (5 × age in years) – 161.
TDEE is calculated by multiplying BMR by an activity factor based on an individual’s level of physical activity.
Using the Calculator
Input Personal Information: Enter your age, sex, weight, height, and activity level.
Calculate BMR: Use the appropriate formula based on your sex.
Calculate TDEE: Multiply your BMR by the activity factor that best describes your lifestyle.
Determine Caloric Needs:
To maintain weight: Use your TDEE.
To lose weight: Subtract 500-1000 calories from your TDEE for a safe weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week.
To gain weight: Add 500 calories to your TDEE.
